I don’t think you understand what the kindles purpose is.

I hope for an upgraded kindle paper white with bigger size, page buttons and in color. I was considering switching to Kobo Libra colour but I have several audio books from Audible that is linked to my Kindle. I hope Amazon comes up with a better Kindle paper white

3:12 kindle also does this, if you’re inside the collection top right there is a button that looks like +/- and it brings up your library as a list with check boxes!

My Oasis has been my favorite e-reader and I will hold on to mine until it works no more. I feel like this is a poor choice for Amazon to have made to discontinue the Oasis.

I was able to get cards for all the ones you mentioned in this and other videos. However, they all stopped working after 3-5 months. So be forwarned that any holds you have will likely disappear after their 3-5 month trial.

I followed your instructions and was able to get my purchased Amazon books transferred from my Kindle Paperwhite to my Kobo LIbra Colour. I still have a couple of books stuck in Prime First Reads and a single book in KU that I haven't finished that I'd like to move over. Someone on Reddit said they had been able to successfully transfer the books but she uses Mac and not Windows so she wasn't able to totally duplicate the steps. Is this even possible on Windows?

Just bought the Clara BW and starting to buy books. It makes me mad to see that I have to agree to Kobo for them to make my Paypal account pre-authorised for any future purchase. I really don't like this. Is there a work around, like buying from elsewhere? I know I can go back into settings in Paypal to remove them, but that's a real hassle, and also on the first two books I noticed that another company found its way into my preauthorised list - coincidence? Where is the best place to buy books for Kobo without this Trojan horse of a requirement?

I bought it. I am very sorry I did. I hate it. Nobody is mentioning an importatnt thing: everytime I turn the page, the screen takes a long time (thinking?) then it flashes and goes completely black, and only then does it show the next page. You can't search inside the book or flip through it. It's a near complete disaster.

Cooking. When you find an online recipe or even a recipe book with color photos, you can prop your iPad Mini on the counter and use it to help you cook and it's bright enough to see from farther away when it's not in your lap. Also the colored pics of ingredients and stuff. So yeah, if cookbooks (#1 selling book in the world) are even a consideration, go iPad. Dim black and white photos in a cookbook in a tiny Kindle? NO, no, no. Don't do it. The #1 genre of books in the world is a big enough reason to push iPad into a clear winner, for anyone who ever uses a recipe to cook. Oh yeah, and how about literally copy-pasting the ingredient list right into your grocery app that's then automatically on your phone when you go to the supermarket?

what should i do if it wont let me download the plug in? my computer says it's invalid because it does not contain top level "init" file are there other alternatives?

Which e-reader do you mostly use today? Especially now that the Kobo has 2 color e-readers. Thanks!

@13:10 - I have the Kindle App on my computer and I can download my library... I can also find the folder where my Kindle saves those books. Can you use those files? Would you need an actual Kindle Device is you went this rout?

Have an Oasis and this same Nook pink edition. I use the Nook more often. Lighter and smaller makes for great reading long sessions 😊

Not sure about alexa app. I go to the Aa menu, go to more, enable assistive reader. For a variety of voice options go to main Kindle menu, device options, keyboard and language, text to speech and download additional voices. Why do I like this? Because British or Australian accented English reader has a less robotic sound to me making it sound more human to me. And to better understand your overseas tech help in the future there was added an Indian English one as well.

I've set Calibre up like in the video and can do it all until I go to convert a book and it comes up with a pop-up "This book is locked by DRM. To learn more about DRM and why you cannot read etc". Anyone able to help?

My Oasis (I have been reading multiple hours a day) doesn't even last a week. I also have found after owning it for a year, the "ergonomics" are terrible and make my hands hurt.

I will go for ipad mini and switch it to airplane mode if you are using it for reading. Kindle, slow response kills me.

Hello! First of all thank you for such a step by step comprehensive video I was able to transfer my books! My only question if anyone knows is, like you, my cover is shortened. I noticed the same happened to the book you imported. Is there any way to make sure that doesn't happen? Or to end up with the covers matching the size of the native kobo books?

I have both but with sensitive eyes if I’ll be reading for hours I’m going with a kindle. I like browsing the kindle app on my iPad but use it primarily for watching movies on or working on documents :)

Well they took mine with it cause it just stopped working. I only had it for a year 😭 It stopped connecting to wifi . I manually updated it and it didn't work so I factory reset and now it's stuck on it because it won't connect to wifi or Bluetooth.

thanks for mentioning about the "plastic on plastic" feel of the stylus on the device. That is a dealbreaker for me. I'm all about writing experience and after the lovely experience of the Scribe I can't go down to something that feels yucky.
